Rougham summer fete was held last Saturday 29th of May and the Rougham Tower aviation museum asked if the radio club would like to support there stand and at the same time promote the radio clubs activity .
Jack , M0HER , Bob G0Bxp and myself Moz M6MQZ set up camp next to the aviation museums tent Jack with the fully loaded Landy VHF UHF and HF capability myself and Bob with Clansman prc320’s both of us on the man whips although mine was aloft on the 5.4m mast . The band were extremely challenging on the day but contact was made with Croatia , Russia , Italy and Sweden . Jack had a qso on 4m with Andy 2E0DIQ both on Clansman UHF man packs and considering Jack was on the rubber duck type antenna the qso wasn’t to bad at all .
Bob made his first qso with his Clansman and I think was pleased with his new acquisition and looks forward to many days ahead /p .
We also had a visit from our representative in parlement Jo Churchill MP. who showed an interest especially which European countries we spoke to and asked if we exchanged views on politics and we to explained that politics is a taboo subject and we cannot under the conditions of our licence discuss such things ..she then joked move over sounds like my kind of thing .
All in all a great day and good company hope this is the start of many such days
